July 4th food feed, grocery trip

At Safeway with Deb, Martha & John to pick up the last of the hotdog feed groceries.
We have 1000 hotdogs, we need:
20 cases bottled water
15 bottles Frenchs mustard
10 bottles cheap ketchup
18 bottles squeezable relish
1 box servers gloves

Ok,ok,  if you put ketchup on your hotdog, you are part commie and in need of counseling.

Thursdays lineup

Just like a routine set in, breakfast Thursday morning is at RJ's.  I order a #1 on the menu, bacon & eggs, which just so happens to be  on special this morning, 70 cents off normal price. Bob, the owner is the last to know what the special is.  For me add rye toast, cook the hash browns crisp, eggs over medium, and i'm set. 3/5 of the normal crowd is in attendance, minus 1 is on fire assignment in Georgia, and 1 apparently needed his beauty sleep.
Timeline lunch.
Smokin pit B-B-Q is set up in the B&B sporting goods parking lot. Last week, when I finally made it to the ordering window, the chicken wasn't yet done, this week when I show up a half hour later, he is sold out of chicken. Oh my, apparently its not meant to be. Dragged myself defeated,  homeward  and had a non-discript bowl of lental soup instead. Will I muster up the will next week? Time will tell.

Dinner being delivered...130 miles

You know if you have been following this blog that  I am on a Mexican kick. Thanks in part to the best mexican food in SE Oregon, Chabelitas Taqueria, Vale , Oregon. Add to that my wifes leaning to the mexican flare and you can appreciate the fact that I am having dinner tonight delivered from Bend, a short 130 miles away.
Rigoberto's Taco Shop will be the source of dinner courtesy of my wife who is tonites delivery queen. For me,  Carne Asada Burrito, for her...fish tacos? 48 minutes for the facts to become evident. Oh I am hungry.

Now let me clarify, we are still THAI food fanatics, as a matter f fact, friday we will be in Eugene, OR tasting some Thai cuisine.

Tonite, however, salsa, tortillas and grilled steak.

If its Vale I must be eating at Chabelitas Taqueria

Well dinner to go included the taco combo, (carne asada, and pollo asada), and thanks to Jason Horstman, food critic extraordinaire, shrimp ceviche. What a find that was, thanks for the tip Jason. So good it was all gone before the camera came out.
Take my word for it. ::>)

Taco Tuesday

Work has its benefits.
Taco Tuesday at the Vale Helibase today for special out of town guests and featured Owyhee Crappie. Jason & Pete, filled the frypan with fresh fillets of Crappie. Oh, this makes for an awesome fish taco. Topped with home brewed Chipolte hot sauce.  Bring on the seconds. Ok, make it thirds. Ohh, it burns so good.
Thanks Vale Helitack. I'll be back!

Dog Friday

Not a real happy camper about being Dog Friday at work today, Harley threw up his breakfast after spending about 8 minutes in my office.
I guess thats food related.

Help me with this one.

I saw this semi on the highway yesterday, it must be food related, right? What question does this answer?

Anniversary dinner

Well it was either free hot dogs/hamburgers at the Pink Tour at the Burns Fire Station, or Hilander for Chinese. Since it is my anniversary I splurged and went with chinese.
She had ginger beef, I had garlic chicken. Top it off with egg flower soup and hot tea.  Nice.
Garlic + Ginger = Toothbrush with toothpaste.  : >)
I love you dear!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Ah Bend,  early meeting with Katherine, Chandler and Taylor at Jakes for Breakfast. Have you had breakfast at Jakes? 4 and 6 egg omelette's.
Today is National Donut day. Apparently the folks at this joint aren't aware. Bummer cause the donuts here are really good, though spendy. Maple bars rock.

Lunch, was a disappointment. I miss China Sun. I loved that place although my wife and kids would get violently ill every time we ate there. Not me. I love cat.
Now Kings Buffet, near the Wagner Mall, was quite a downer. Even I found it marginally acceptable. EVEN the fortune cookie was generically safe. Wont be coming back there.

Hit the road back to Hines with a Costco Polish dog & soda. Best $1.50 investment of the day.

Such a fine wine

Just like a fine wine......ahh the sweet nectar to quench a thirst.  A&W root beer is made with the finest ingredients, real vanilla....and high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sodium benzoate, natural and artificial flavors. oh this hit the spot.  Are you with me?
